Welcome to the Presocial Network

Various junk I've been playing with. LEGO Game Boy, Anbernic 35XXSP, an external SSD, a Philips head screwdriver, and a Leatherman

Welcome to the Presocial Network! Or you can pronounce the dot and call it Presocial.Network to really keep with the vibe. This is a web site. Not a service, not an app. You type in the URL, come here, and read what gets posted. If you feel like it, you can join the message board and talk about things related to what’s on here. You know, a regular web site.

It’s not revolutionary, but it feels really weird in 2026 when everything is a social feed driven by a recommendation engine run by a handful of huge companies that have swallowed almost every eye and ear connected to the Internet. I’m tired of those feeds and those recommendations, and so I made this site.

You can find out more on the About page, but the short version is that this is a place to talk about how the Internet has gotten actively worse in the last decade (and the decade before that, and yes, I know that the Internet has never truly been “good” in the first place) and how we can relearn and embrace the Old Ways to carve out better, happier, more useful places in the Internet for ourselves. How we can use knowledge and effort to take back our spaces and our technology.

The Old Ways still work. You can tell they do because I can still make a web site like this. Even if we’ve forgotten these methods in the name of the hand-holding convenience of easy connectivity and endless scrolling, they still work. In fact, when you get down to the nuts and bolts of it all, the old ways still run the Internet. We can still use them.

Also, I write genre fiction. That’ll be here, too. Mostly urban fantasy/horror. Check it out. And thanks for coming.

Remember the Old Ways.
